The International Student Identity Card (ISIC) offers reduced student
airfares both domestically and internationally, insurance coverage
for travel outside the U.S., a 24-Hour assistance help-line, a range
of communications services through ISIConnect, and international
recognition as a student, which provides access to any privileges
student status may bring, and discounts in the U.S. and internationally.
Presentation of the ISIC card is required for the purchase of some
student tickets as proof of student status. Educational Travel Centre
issues ISIC cards. The ISIC is available to full time students at
least 12 years old enrolled at an accredited secondary school, college,
university or vocational school. The cost is $22.00 and you must
provide proof of student status. The ISIC is valid for one year
from date of issue (ie. September 1, 2006 - September 1, 2007.)

International Youth Travel
Card (IYTC/GO25)
The International Youth Travel Card (IYTC/GO25) offers reduced youth
airfares both domestically and internationally, GOConnect, which acts
as a prepaid phone card, dicounts in the U.S. and internationally,
adn international recognition, which provides acces to any privileges
youth status may bring. Presentation of the IYTC is requried for the
purchase of some tickets that offer a youth discount as proof of age.
It is available for travelers age 25 and younger (ages 12-25 inclusive.)
The cost of the card is $22.00 and you must provide proof of age.
The IYTC is valid for one year from date of issue.

Youth Hostels
Hostelling International is an organization which includes thousands
of hostels world-wide. When you are visiting a city where a night
in a hotel can cost you upwards of $90, such as London or Paris,
hostels are an extremely attractive option. You probably have better
things to spend your money on than your hotel! Youth hostels
are inexpensive, safe and fun places to stay for people of all ages.
Hostels are by far the most economical lodging available and by
becoming a member you are entitled to discounts at Hostelling International
Hostels worldwide. You are also able to make advance reservations
for certain hostels using the International booking network - a
useful advantage if you are planning on traveling during a busy
travel season, when hostels can fill up quickly.
Educational Travel Centre sells $28.00 adult (age 18 and up) and
$18.00 Senior (age 55 and up) HI-AYH Hostel membership kits.
These memberships are good for one year and the kit contains your
membership card, along with other information you may find useful.
